Experience

My teaching philosophy is to help students becoming good citizens and life-long learners. The level at which I am teaching is the post-graduate programmes in management. Students are expected to already have reasonable domain knowledge. My philosophy is to help students in their holistic development. They should become emotionally strong, socially sensitive and capable of fitting themselves in changing environment. I believe teaching is a passion and that’s what prompts me to dig out the talents lying hidden in the students and to see them successful in life.

I believe that different students have different learning styles, inherent capabilities, and capacity to learn. Therefore, I use different pedagogies so that there is learning for everybody. I strongly believe in providing guidance as a mentor both for professional and personal growth. While the brilliant ones in the class are appreciated, I make all efforts to ensure that the hesitant ones also come forward.

Learning has three components viz. Knowledge, skills, and attitude. All the three components are essential. While I make full efforts to facilitate exposure of students to the latest body of knowledge, I give lot of emphasis on students acquiring required skills and developing right attitude. Knowledge is transient and needs periodic updating, new skills need to be acquired in this environment of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. This would be possible only when students have right attitude to gain new knowledge and skills. Therefore, as a teacher, I put lot of emphasis in preparing students to accept the challenges in their personal and professional lives through developing attitude to face these challenges with appropriate frame of mind and to be always positive in approach and to have sensitivity towards the people, society and environment around.

Biography

Dr. Prashant Gupta, a graduate engineer from NIT, Jaipur. M.B.A from F.M.S., Delhi and Ph. D. from M D S University in the area of Strategic Management.

He has rich corporate and academic experience of about 44 years. He was initially associated with Bharat Electronics Ltd., Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation (RIICO) for about 30 years in various positions.

In the academic field, he worked with Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Amity Global Business School, Ahmedabad. He was also a Convener and Professor in the area of Operations Management with Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, New Delhi. His areas of specialization are Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, and Strategic Management.

He is also the recipient of the 'Best Professor in Operations Management' in Asia’s Best B-School Awards by CMO, Asia for the year 2011.

He has been associated with Consultancy / Management Development Programs for organizations like Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Indian Aluminium Company, IPCL Limited, Cadila Pharmaceutical Limited, etc.

Currently associated as Professor in the area of Operations Management & Strategy with Jaipuria Institute of Management, which is India's amongst best colleges for PGDM-MBA in Jaipur, Rajasthan
